Vancouver Island As Seen From The International Space Station, and From Our Back Patio

I was very excited last night to find a photo pop into my twitter feed of our island and the Salish sea around us, taken from the space station.

Gorgeous view, you can see the delta of the Fraser River on the mainland side, and you can pick out the snow capped mountains of Strathcona Provincial Park which covers a large part of the north end of the island.   We're down there somewhere in the middle.

On my walk on Thursday I took a photo of an interesting high cloud formation.  Also photos of a new house going up.  Someone is building their dream home on the edge of a forest, large one by the looks of it,  with a two car garage, or maybe three.  It backs onto a ravine, unfortunately, it's very close to a water treatment centre. So it might not be the ideal dream house after all.  An odeur prevails most days in that location.

Sunday morning turned out beautifully bright and sunny although cold, close to 0 over night.

Blackbird in the tree, and, the first sightings of two Canada Geese on the golf course, there will be more flying in, this month and the will stay until the late fall.

  1. Nice pics. Today we spotted saw our first robin so surely spring really is on its way. And the Canada geese are already eyeing our waterfront for the day when the ice has receded.
